Association Living 101
Each Association will have specific documents created just for their property. They include Articles of Incorporation, By Laws, Declaration, Rules and Regulations as well as any amendments made to any of the documents. The Declaration is generally viewed as the most important document as it discusses responsibilities between homeowner and Association.
While most properties allow pets, restrictions are a part of association living. Restrictions usually include what type, size and number of pets are allowed.
Each property will have its own rules in place for parking. Most properties will reference topics such as street and driveway parking or underground parking rules at a condo building.
Dues cover each property’s expenses. What is covered can vary from property to property. For example dues can cover maintenance for common expenses, trash, water, snow plowing, lawn mowing and management services.
